Four Channels, Four Lifestyles, Four Races….

Choose One and Join Fox International Channels’

Fun Run On March 25, 2012

Fox International Channels (FIC) provides a bit of each TV channel’s flavor and a whole lot of fun in the FIC Fun Run on March 25, 2012 at the Bonifacio Global City. Participants can play dress up, hobnob with celebrities and support a worthy cause.

The event gives runners the opportunity to choose and participate in any of the four races organized by FIC featuring different lifestyle themes representing its four key channels. It will have four race categories that include an advocacy marathon aimed at raising funds to support the various projects of partner non-government organizations (NGOs).

Participants may register in the 500m Fox Costume Run, 3K Star Movies Blockbuster Run, 5K Star World Lifestyle and the 10K Nat Geo Run For a Cause. Those who are interested to join may register either via online or phone, at RunRio stores (BHS and Katipunan) and event partner stores. Participants may choose their singlet according to the channel and label they wish to run with.

Come dressed in your favorite character and run alongside fellow enthusiasts and sponsor mascots in the 500m Fox Costume Run. Fifty runners in costume will compete and make a dash for the finish line. Limited edition Fox DVD will be raffled off after the race.

Star Movies rolls out the red carpet for movie aficionados in the 3K Star Movies Lifestyle Run where writers, film producers and movie directors are expected to show their support to the event. For a bit of a movie trivia and a tad of inspiration, popular quotes from movie characters will be setup along the course. A home entertainment system is up for grabs in the raffle draw.

Run with panache – this is the battle cry of lovers of fashion and fitness when they run the 5K Star World Lifestyle Run featuring a red carpet along the route to mimic the paparazzi scene. Brush elbows with models, celebrities and other prominent personalities expected to show up in their running shoes. If you’re feeling lucky, you might just bring home gift certificates for a shopping spree at the end of the race.

Have fun while reaching out to others in the 10K National Geographic Run for a Cause. The race is in partnership with 10 select non-government organizations and seeks to raise awareness for their respective advocacies. Among the partner NGOs are Physicians for Peace, ICANSERVE Foundation, Virlanie, Greenpeace, Philippine Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, World Vision and Gawad Kalinga. The first 500 registrants will compete in the name of their advocacy.

Team Woman Run by Lactacyd

Inviting all women runners to join the Team Woman Run by Lactacyd. A running event especially organized for women. The event will be held on June 27, 2010 at the Venice Piazza Mall, Mckinley Hill.

Woman Team Run

What better way to celebrate a woman’s strength than with an all-woman run?

Gather together your sisters and friends to form a team of three or four individuals, and be part of this year’s Woman Team Run. Woman Team Run is an all-woman team relay for females ages 18 to 35. This exciting event will be held on June 27, 2010 at the Venice Pizza Mall, McKinley Hill.

Each team will run a combined distance of 21K. The first runner will run a distance of 10K, the second runner will run 5K, the third runner will run 3K, and the fourth (or first) runner will run another 3K. There will also be a 5K individual run category.

Of course, it is a given that women love to be fashionable. A Best in Costume Award will be awarded to the team who adds the most flair to their running outfits. Criteria will be made up of originality, creativity, use of Team Woman singlet, and overall impact.

A lot of things are expected of today’s woman. Woman by Lactacyd understands the needs of a woman with an active lifestyle. As its tagline goes, only Woman Knows a Woman, made to keep up with you.

At the end of the race, a team composed entirely of women will be chosen to become ambassadors of Woman by Lactacyd. Currently, Leica Carpo, Amanda Carpo, Chesca Carpo and Bea Locsin are the strong, athletic women who wave Woman by Lactacyd’s flag. These veteran runners will hold free running clinics on May 30, June 6 and June 13.

Looney Tunes Active Fun Run – Registration Extended

I am a fan of Looney Tunes so much and when I heard that there is a Looney Tunes Active Fun Run happening, it got me interested and surfing the net for the race details… Hmmm.. too bad the event here in Manila falls on May 29, I will not be around. =)

Anyway, the registration ended yesterday, May 22. However, I received information from a fellow runner that according to the organizers, registration is extended till May 27. So for those who haven’t registered yet, you can still register at Timex, SM Megamall till May 27, 2010.

Looney Tunes Active! Fun Run in SM Megamall and SM City Cebu

In 2009, WBCP, through its Philippine agent, Global Brands Group, launched a school tour where running clinics were conducted by locally renowned coach Rio de la Cruz, in partnership with the Physical Education and Sports Clubs of participating schools in Metro Manila. This culminated with the first Looney Tunes Active! Fun Run in SM Mall of Asia on August 30, 2009. The event was attended by almost 1,000 participants, consisting of children, parents and sports enthusiasts.

This year, WBCP will launch a sequel to the Looney Tunes Active! Fun Run, this time in SM Megamall on May 29, 2010, and SM City Cebu on June 5, 2010. Acting as race directors are Rio dela Cruz, fresh from the Boston Marathon, and Noy Jopson, Philippines Iron Man, respectively.

Run Rio Leg 2: Nature Valley Run Updates – New race routes for 10K and 21K

Run Rio Leg 2: The Nature Valley Run 2010

There has been a change in the race routes for 10K and 21K for the Nature Valley Run on May 30, 2010. Heritage Park will no longer be part of the course, thus to compensate for this, minor rerouting was made particularly the extension of the course within Makati Area. See below for the new routes. (Click for a larger view.)
